Gothard Sisters’ Performance Residency in the Methow Valley
Over the last two weeks The Gothard Sisters spent a lot of time in school - playing assemblies for thousands of kids from preschool, kindergarten, middle school and high school to college. The schools were fun and exciting for the band to delve into. We heard from many people that they usually dread assemblies and the band was excited to bring the kids something high energy and fun and interesting that also introduced them to the sisters' love for Celtic music and the joys of instrumental music and live performance.
The assemblies covered how the sisters got started in music, the difference between a jig and a reel, question and answer sessions, stories behind the songs, and the kids and young adults even got to learn how to Irish dance. Here's a big shout out to all the wonderful kids and young adults The Gothard Sisters played for over the last two weeks - many thanks for being so awesome and open and such wonderful listeners!
