This year's Appaloosa festival, held in scenic Front Royal, Virginia, was lots of fun - the brand new main stage got all put together and made in time (watch the inspiring story behind the community and the main stage right here) and we got to play two different times on that stage over the weekend. Even though the first day was cold and rainy and we had a bit of an authentic Irish mist over the festivities, the second day was warm and sunny and many families, kids and happy adults got to enjoy live music, good food, activities and workshops and much more.
Our good friends in the Celtic / Americana / Gypsy band Scythian put this festival on every year, and we had lots of fun playing music alongside members of that band, our buddies in Irish-American band RUNA, Ben-David Warner, Indie Folk band Humming House, as well as another Seattle native - Chris Luquette from the grammy-nominated bluegrass band Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen. And yes, he did indeed lend a few claps to our recording of "The Three Coins" way back in 2011 on our Story Girl album. Haha!

This festival gets better every year and we love being a part of it! More photos and such to come - for now though, here is the road blog!
